The Team
David Short – Director & Senior Building Surveyor
David is the founder and Director of Permit Approvals Plus.
David has been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years. He started his career in 1983, undertaking an apprenticeship and becoming a fully qualified carpenter and joiner by trade. He spent the earlier years of his career working on domestic projects within the residential sector and then moved into the commercial construction sector. David eventually progressed his career and became the foremen/site manager on a diverse range of projects including multi storey buildings, multi storey in-ground basements, shopping centres & schools to name a few. His extensive knowledge of construction techniques give all clients an advantage.
Changing his direction within the industry in 2008, David completed his Diploma & Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying at Victoria University. He then became registered as a Building Inspector in 2010 and a Registered Building Surveyor in 2011.

Matthew Short – Senior Assistant Building Surveyor
Matthew has been working full time at Permit Approvals Plus since 2016. Matthew has completed his Diploma & Advanced Diploma in Building Surveying at Victoria University. During his time working he has conducted mandatory inspections and written reports for non-compliance all whilst under the supervision of David. Matthew has progressed to be an experienced member of Permit Approvals Plus and is eager to progress to become a Registered Building Surveyor.

Andrea Short – Accounts
Andrea has been involved within the company since its inception in 2013. Andrea is involved in taking care of financial matters within the organisation.
Rachel Fisher – Assistant Building Surveyor/Pool Safety Inspector
Rachel has worked as a part of Permit Approvals Plus since 2016. During the time she has worked within the company she has assisted with client liaison, problem solving and undertaking of regulatory duties to support senior staff.
She has recently finished her Bachelor of Building Surveying at Holmesglen Institute and has become registered as a Building Inspector – Pool Safety.
Rachel Fisher
